Thank you to all the parents who attended the Taller Teds Nativity Show.  The children worked really hard and did a fantastic job.

Compost!

Well done to all the children and staff with their green fingers.  We now have our first ready to use compost!  Little Teds have used some to repot a geranium.  Here's hoping we have some lovely healthy compost for the new planting season in the Spring time.

Christmas Cards.

This year, instead of sending out Christmas cards, Maureen Murray will be making a geneous donation to Children 1st charity in the name of The Murrayfield Nursery.  We are sure that you will all agree that this is a very worth charity in helping out local children.

Family Fun Time!

Ideas for fun activities at home!

Monday 30/01/12
Did you know that kids can develop half of their language skills before they are three?  The more you look at books together now, the better they'll be reading and words as they get older.
Here are some tips:

  • Encourage them to turn pages with you.  They'll soon be so good at it they'll take the book off you and do it themselves.
  • Running your fingers over the words as you say them will help your child learn that 'squiggles' they see actually mean something.
  • Read at a slow pace so your baby/toddler can keep up.
  • Get cosy - find a quiet space for both to tuck away and hide from the hustle and bustle of the day.

Parents Participation and Involvement

We are always eager for our parents to be involved in the life of the nursery.  However, we understand this is not always easy as we all lead such busy lives.
Throughout the Nursery there are several mindmaps displayed where we would appreciate you taking the time to add your thoughts, comments and ideas.  We will use all feedback received as part of our self -evaluation and the on going development of our nursery.
At the moment we are looking for your input on Staff Quality (Main Entrance), Health and Wellbeing /Emotions (downstairs corridor) and ideas for new menus (Kitchen door).
As always we appreciate your co-operation and support.  Thank you.

Staff Changes

Update - Monday 23/01/2011
Satoko has settled in really well with Jade and her team in the Baby room.  Stacey is still waiting for paper work to come through and will commence work with Rhonda and her team in Big Teds as soon as possible.
Lindsay who worked in the Baby room has now moved to the clown room where she will join Gillian and Pauline.
Interviews and trials are continuing to fill the remaining positions in the buildings.

Update - Monday 09/01/2011
Two new nursery nurses will join our dedicated and enthusiastic team during the coming weeks.  Satoko will join the Jemima Room and Stacey will join the Big Teds team, once all their necessary paperwork is returned.  We are confident that they will fit in and we look forward to them both joining our team.
Interviews are still ongoing for 2 remaining positions within the building.
Lynsey from Little Teds has now joined Big Teds where she will work with Rhonda, Nicole and Stacey.

Update - Tuedsay 20/12/11
Pamela has recently handed in her notice and will work her last day on Friday 13/01/12.  Pamela has decided to have a change of career and is exploring different interests and seeing where it takes her.  We wish Pamela all the best for the future.
We currently have two nursery nurses working with the team on three day trials and are also holding interviews during the week.  Please do not hesitate to speak to Maxine with any feedback you may have on our trial staff.
We will keep you informed of all changes.  Thank you for your co operation.

Unfortunately Jenna's last day is on Thursday 8th of November 2011.  Jenna is leaving to concentrate on her
family business and we all wish her every successful for the future.  She will be very much missed by all staff, children and parents.
Due to unforseen circumstances Lisa is no longer working with us.
Congratulations to Natasha who has been recently promoted to Room Leader of Little Teds.  Again we wish her all the best and we are positive that she will bring many great qualities to the room and to the job.
As a result of these we are currently interviewing for three positions within the nursery.  We will be looking for your feedback on prospective candidates, as they work for trial days, before we offer positions.
