Information about our Food Suppliers

The Murrayfield Nursery prides itself on offering our children the best natural and fresh ingredients as we continue to provide an exciting and well balanced menu .
Karol Koski is our permanent chef and has been with the nursery since August 2015.  Karol has worked in numerous 5*hotels throughout Scotland and brings with him new ideas and an opportunity for our children to be exposed to new tastes and exciting new foods.

Karol has sourced some excellent local providers for our raw foods and we will share a little bit of information about them with you below.

Welch Fishmongers - The nursery aims to provide a fish dish for our children at least one day a week.  All our fish is sourced from Welch Fishmongers who are a family run business, established since 1959, and have many shops throughout Edinburgh. Taken from their website "As wholesale fishmongers, we supply fresh, frozen and smoked fish to a large range of trade customers including restaurants, hotels, deli’s and pubs all across Edinburgh and beyond" .

John Brash Butcher - Founded in early 1976 this shop, which is in close proximity to the nursery, supplies the nursery with sausages and beef mince. The nursery is always keen to support local businesses and will source our meat from here as much as possible.

Campbell Meats - At times it is necessary for us to source our meat from else where and this is when we will use Campbell Meats.  Campbell Meats is also a family run business which has a great reputation throughout this area.  Please visit their website at www.campbellmeats.com for interesting and exciting recipe ideas.

Charlie Stamper - Charlie Stamper provide all of our fresh fruit and vegetables on a daily basis.  They are a local family run business based in the centre of Edinburgh who have been supplying fresh produce throughout Scotland since 1993.  They pride themselves on providing quality food and vegetables, dairy products and fine foods to many of Scotland's top restaurants, hotels, schools and care homes.

Please feel free to look at the respective websites for more details.
